What to Expect

On your first day at Lighthouse Detox you will be assessed by a qualified detox nurse. Depending on the time of day of your arrival, you may see the Medical Director that day or at the latest, the following morning.

Depending on your level of comfort, you are allowed to socialize in our day room, catch some fresh air on our patio, read in the library or rest in the comfort of your room.

The nurses on staff will take your vitals on a routine schedule based on your individual needs and dispense medications to you per the doctors orders. Remember that not everybody will receive the same medications and/or at the same frequency. Your protocols are tailored to your individual needs and they are reviewed by our Medical Director daily.

We hold AA, NA and Spiritual meetings on site one day per week. We hold a general group meeting each day. Our Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Yoga instructor visit the unit and hold their trainings at least once per week. We are an open facility and no client is ever forced to attend any of the offerings.

Additionally, we have a vibro-acustic bed to help ease any tension or anxiety you may be experiencing. This bed is available to you at all times during your stay. Our Jupiter Medical Center volunteers bring around pet therapy dogs on a regular basis as well.

Dietary staff will meet with you daily to place your meal orders. They will be able to help you select the right meal.

Our clinical therapist will meet with you on a regular basis throughout your stay to assist you in your transition to the next step in your journey. They will also help you coordinate any communication to loved ones, employers, attorneys, etc. All phone calls are coordinated and approved through our Clinical Therapist.
